A few guidelines:
- Fish must be measured on a mat with a plastic 90 degree edge. We have some great mats for $20 which I will have on me this Sunday at casting and weigh in the following weekend. Or feel free to contact me and we can sort something out. Using your own mat is ok as well. Above is a picture of the mats we have for discounted sale ( Note the plastic end that you need if using your own)
- When measuring fish ensure the whole fish is seen on the mat, the nose of the fish must start at zero against the plastic edge, then zoom in on the v of the tail. The measurement must be clearly visible. Common sense will be used for fish that can be seen are comfortably over the minum length.
- It will need to be a video of the fish measurement – Photos will not be accepted
- When measuring fish such as sharks, SSH , eels etc that don’t have a v in the tail, it needs to be clear that the measurement exceeds the minimum length required. ( See attached file of min lengths, points )
- Measured fish are released fish – Signs of major injury or dead fish will not be counted.
- The weighmaster has the final say on what is deemed acceptable and what they believe the measurement is and if needed can get a 2nd opinion from the club captain.
- Videos of fish sent to club captain or weighmaster during the fishing weekend or at weigh in. Videos sent after this will not be counted.
- Measurements have been worked out via an average size fish and 1-3 measurement options per species. This can change as we see what does/doesn’t work but less options makes it easier for the weighmaster to determine points.
